We're celebrating 40 years of helping Reading families get through difficult times and thrive.
We hope to use this opportunity to raise our profile and funds to ensure we can continue our work with local families for many years to come.
Keep an eye on this page for details of how we're marking the occasion and how you can get involved...
Party in Prospect Park
We kicked off our celebrations with a party in the park for families, staff, trustees, volunteers and friends.
We all enjoyed a picnic, fun activities provided by diddi dance and Storm in a Teacup Circus and delicious cake from Free Cakes for Kids Reading.
Before cutting the cake, Kelly, said: “It’s amazing that Home-Start Reading has been creating support and friendship for 40 years and this is down to lots of very special people.”
Join us for our quiz night
We're holding a fundraising quiz night at Siren Craft Brew Reading Bar on Wednesday 2 October.
Get together with friends, colleagues or family members and pit your wits in friendly competition against other teams in aid of a great cause.
We'll give you a free drink voucher on arrival and there will be plenty of breaks for you to order more drinks and your selection of food from the menu as the evening goes on.
We'll finish with a raffle, where you'll stand a chance to win some great prizes!
40 for 40
With our 40 for 40 campaign, we're aiming to raise £40,000 in donations from generous businesses and individuals to support our work with local families.

Collaboration with RealTime
We contacted local participatory video production company, RealTime, for help with producing video content to mark 40 years of Home-Start Reading. It turns out that they're celebrating their 40th this year too, so they kindly agreed to help us on a pro bono basis.
We're delighted with the results. Here's the video they worked with us to create about the difference our Home Visiting service makes to families...
