Supporting families in Reading through difficult times,

to help parents give their children the best possible start in life

Our friendly team of staff and volunteers is here to help families in Reading with at least one child under the age of five get through difficult times and thrive.

We're committed to offering friendship, gentle, non-judgemental support and practical help. Our aim is always to enable parents to build their confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community.

Here are the main ways we help:

Depending on the needs of families and the resources available we also help in other ways on an ad hoc basis. This might include providing anything from clothes to carpets as well as arranging outings, giving families the opportunity to spend fun quality time together.

All our services are free of charge.

Our work is monitored by Home-Start UK, who conduct a four-yearly quality assurance review to validate our processes, endorse and help us build on good practice and identify areas for improvement. We have also achieved Reading Voluntary Action's Safe and Sound quality award for good governance.
