We're grateful to Reading's Sikh community for choosing to support Home-Start Reading through their annual Nagar Kirtan event. 

Held to celebrate Vaisakhi, the community comes together to sing, share food, clean the streets and collect for charity. This year, we're honoured that they chose us. 

Our manager, Kelly had a tour of the gurdwara and joined the procession around East Reading. The families involved worked hard to collect a wonderful £1,500 throughout the celebration. 

Kelly said: "I loved being part of such a joyful occasion. The sense of community spirit was striking and resonated with our ethos of people helping people. I would like to thank the organisers, particularly Bindi and Sharanjit, and the families at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara for their passion and support."
