The Captains of The Springs Golf Club in North Stoke, near Wallingford, have kindly chosen Home-Start Reading as their Charity of the Year.

They held a fun day on 17 May to celebrate and kick of funding.

Proceedings opened with the two Captains, Michael Bonner and Pat Jackson, successfully completing drive-ins, to rapturous applause from the gathered members. A golf competition followed, with refreshments contributed by the Captains and our team provided at a Halfway Hut, ably run by our Manager Kelly, Assistant Family Support Co-ordinator Karen and her husband Terry.

Following lunch, prizes were presented to the winners and Kelly spoke about what we do, our amazing volunteers and the impact our work has on the lives of the families we support.

A big thank you to the Captains for choosing us, and to everyone at the club for the warm welcome and generous support.
