Mary Wilson was awarded the Volunteer of the Year trophy at our AGM back in September. 

Afterwards she said: "I am so honoured to be awarded Volunteer of the Year by Home-Start Reading. 

"It’s been such a privilege to walk alongside families through good days and tough ones – offering an ear, a hand, or a hug when it’s needed most. I’ve learned so much about resilience, connection, and what really matters.

"Thank you to the incredible team at Home-Start and to the families who’ve welcomed me into their lives – this award is a reflection of the strength and spirit you’ve shared with me."

Mary support families through difficult times with great empathy, kindness, and good humour when it's needed. She also supports our Reading Half Marathon runners, with tips from her experience as a running coach, and sponsors their running vests through her business, The Small Business Analyst.
